Publication and document governance
Citation and Publication
This page defines how document status, versions, revisions, and citation are to be understood on royndalisme.no. Its purpose is to distinguish substantive content from technical implementation and make every published presentation traceable.
Publication statuses
- Published
- The document is publicly available and may be cited in its stated version. The status does not mean that it is final, beyond correction, or externally endorsed.
- In development
- The document or programme element is actively being developed but has not been published as a completed version.
- Planned
- The role or route is established in the architecture, but the content has not been published as a separate document.
- Not published
- The material does not exist as a public document or has explicitly been withheld.
- Superseded
- A later edition or new document has taken over the current function. The earlier history should remain traceable.
- Withdrawn
- The document should no longer be used as the current presentation. The reason and revision history should be documented where appropriate.
Version types
| Type | What it identifies | What creates a change |
|---|---|---|
| Document version | The substantive version of a versioned document. | A material change to a claim, definition, scope, procedure, requirement, or limit. |
| Content version | The substantive version of an information page, lexicon entry, or similar content element. | A material change to definition, status, responsibility, source ground, or normative content. |
| Schema version | The structure of machine-readable data, registers, or exports. | A change to fields, data type, structure, or compatibility requirements. |
| Git commit | A technical change point in the source code. | Each commit recorded in Git; this is not itself a substantive document change. |
| Publication date | The date the content first became publicly available in the relevant form. | First publication of the document or edition. |
| Last substantive revision | The date of the most recent material content change. | A change affecting content, status, limits, or interpretation. |
| Last technical update | The date of the latest code, design, or operational change where stated. | A technical change without requiring a new document version. |
Citation principles
A citation should identify the presentation actually used. When citing a versioned document, include document code, version, and canonical URL. When citing a foundational work, use the authorised edition and page number where relevant.
A navigation page, map, or register extract should not be cited as if it were the principal substantive document where the claim belongs in a more specific source.
- Use the canonical title and URL.
- State document or content version where the page has one.
- State the document code where it forms part of the formal identification.
- Use an access date where required by the citation standard or material type.
- Distinguish author, responsible publisher, and publishing website.

Publication integrity
A document should not receive a new substantive version merely because it is moved, restyled, improved for mobile, or given a technically corrected link. Conversely, a material substantive change must not be concealed as a purely technical update.
When a new version is published, the change should be described briefly and the earlier version or revision entry retained where practical and legally appropriate.
Copyright and use
All content is protected under applicable copyright unless otherwise expressly stated on the relevant page or publication. Citation, discussion, and academic criticism may take place within applicable law and proper citation practice.
This page does not establish a Creative Commons licence or other open licence. Such licensing requires a separate and explicit publication decision.
Version and revision
Content version 1.0 is the first public edition of the publication and citation rules on royndalisme.no.
Changes to status definitions, version rules, citation requirements, or the copyright account create a new content version.
